"Xiaomi, a chinese company better known for creating the popular Android ROM MIUI, announced its latest handset called the Xiaomi Phone 2. The manufacturer has been rolling as of late, with scoring lots of funding. The new device carries more than adequate specs that can compete in today’s world of power phones. The phone packs a 4.3-inch 720p IPS display by Sharp, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 quad-core chip, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 2GB RAM and 16GB memory. Moreover, the handset also comes with a 2,000mAh battery cell to help power Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) out the box. The battery is upgradeable to a 3,000mAh cell. With these kind of specs, you would think the asking price would be somewhere above the $500 mark (USD), but you’d be wrong. The phone is expected to hit Chinese store shelves sometime in October for $1,999 yuan, which is only $310 USD. This is the same price of the first generation Xiaomi Phone of last year. The Xiaomi 2 is only .08 mm thicker than the iPhone 4S, so it should be relatively good for the hand. That being said, we’re not holding our breath for this thing to hit stateside anytime soon, but if you want a superphone that’s dumb cheap, you might want to really consider buying this thing from overseas." via intomobile.com
